Statement der Jury Kategorie „Bester Song im Film“

Der Song „Here in the rain“ zeigt die umfassende musikalische Bandbreite des Komponisten Loy Wesselburg. Er bündelt das Hauptmotiv der dazugehörigen Filmmusik, das sich immer wieder in Variationen im Film findet. Vom Lagerfeuer-Gefühl der zart gesungenen ersten Strophe gelangt man über einen spärlich instrumentierten zweiten Vers, gesungen von seiner Tochter MIA, zu einem opulenten Refrain, der in jeder Hinsicht aus dem Vollen schöpft. Immer wieder unterbrochen vom penetrant-schönen Vocal-Hook, schraubt sich der Song geschmackvoll bis zu seinem Höhepunkt, um dann in simpler Poesie zu enden: “Here in the rain“…

The Jury Statement of the „Best Song in Film“

The song „Here in the rain“ demonstrates the musical bandwidth of composer Loy Wesselburg. He is condensing the musical maintheme which is continously being recited in variations throughout the movie. Beginning with an atmoshpere of a quiet singer songwriter attitude in the first, softly sung verse, leading then into a sparce instrumented second verse, sung by Loys daughter Mia, falling into an opulent Chorus, which goes up to the fully possible by any means. Repeateadly interrupted by the penetrant-wonderful vocal hook, this song is evolving tastefully to it´s climax, just to fall into bare poesie at the end: “here in the rain”……
